Lundi 31 Octobre, la Palestine a été admise à l'Unesco, par 107 voix pour (dont la France, la Chine, la Russie, le Brésil, l’Inde, l’Afrique du sud et la Belgique), 52 abstentions (parmi lesquelles le Royaume-Uni, l’Italie, la Pologne, le Danemark, le Japon, la Corée du Sud, l’Ukraine et la Suisse), et 14 contre (dont les États-Unis, l’Allemagne, Israël, le Canada, la Suède et les Pays-Bas).
Le président palestinien Mahmoud Abbas a également déposé le 23 septembre une demande d’adhésion à l’ONU. Les Américains ont fait savoir qu’ils utiliseraient leur veto pour bloquer la demande palestinienne. Le vote aura lieu le 11 novembre 2011.
Khaled Meschaal, dirigeant terroriste du Hamas, sera sans doute le vainqueur des futures élections palestiniennes qui seront prochainement organisées dans les Territoires palestiniens, dans la foulée des élections égyptiennes qui auront très probablement comme résultat... l'arrivée au pouvoir des Frères Musulmans.
Dans un an, le nouveau président de la Palestine sera donc probablement Khaled Meschaal, et son gouvernement sera "Hamas" à une écrasante majorité.
Charia en Lybie, Islamistes au pouvoir en Tunisie, Frères musulmans en Égypte, Hamas dirigeant la Palestine... Après le printemps arabe, l'hiver islamique ?

Je pense que c'est un grand pas vers la reconnaissance de l'Etat de Palestine, mais on en est encore loin. L'Unesco n'a pas de veto dans son système de vote, et donc il était plus facile de faire entrer la Palestine en dedans. Par contre, ce qui change, c'est que les pays de l'ONU ont osé introduire le vote malgré le fait qu'Israel et les Etats-Unis soient contre. On en était jamais arrivé jusque là...
L'Assemblée générale de l'ONU, elle, peut voter, mais le Conseil de Sécurité, un organe parallèle contrôle l'Assemblée en "évitant" des choix qui seraient d'ordre à destabiliser la paix mondiale. Dans ce conseil de sécurité, il y a 5 membres permanents qui peuvent exercer un droit de veto à l'encontre de toute résolution de l'Onu.
Il n'y a pas que les Etats-Unis donc (ce dernier l'a exercé 82 fois dont la majorité à propos d'Israel et la Palestine...), il y a également la Russie (ou URSS, 124x), le Royaume-Uni (32x), la France (18x) et la Chine (8x).
Bref, ce n'est pas la première fois, ni la dernière fois, que les Etats-Unis utiliseront leur veto pour défendre Israel ou empêcher la Palestine d'avancer dans son processus de reconnaissance.

Ouaip; on dirait qu'un nouveau compte à rebours est lancé. Les Israeliens avancent leurs pions comme des fous pour occuper le maximum de terrain avant que la Palestine devienne un état indépendant.
Idée à la con : si la Palestine parvient à faire reconnaitre ses frontières, les bâtiments construits sur son territoire lui appartiendrons " Merci Israel de nous avoir offerts pleins d'habitations"
