Jim Sinclair: Warren, I am listening to the gloating US media reports about Iran's capitulation to US demands for abandonment of its uranium enrichment program. This strikes me somewhat questionable as we both know that countries in the Middle East would fain cooperation while another source for enriched uranium was being secured.
I can’t help but note that international markets - especially the international dollar market - shrugged off the news rather than using it as a lever to firm up. Markets know more than people.
Warren Pollock: What is interesting to me is that French Foreign Minister, Dominique de Villepin claimed an international diplomatic victory by having Iran acquiesce to additional nuclear proliferation and inspection protocols. Pakistan skirted non-proliferation protocols as it developed its nuclear deterrent force.
Something has changed and the US news reports are totally blind to it. I searched through about a half dozen foreign sources last evening and found that anti-American diplomacy may be going across about 3/4ths of the globe. Russia and China are being consulted on the next moves. Both Pakistan and Syria recently met with the Russians and Chinese.
The nexus of this whole movement may not be radical Islam at all. Islamic Development bank nations and China-Russia-India alliances seem to be the two major groups aligned against us.
Jim Sinclair: Warren, I have long rejected the concept of “radical Islam” having lived in areas of the world with large Islamic populations. The West appears quite different when you look at it from an Islamic perspective.
Having said that, I am certain the most significant world event today is the Sino-Islamic Alliance, including the initiatives that are being put forward by Russia’s Putin to become a part of it.
I have mentioned to the Community before that the distribution phase of this generational gold market will not be into the market but rather into a currency relationship which will not be the dollar.
I haven't a clue if this administration really understands that they have been totally manipulated into a ground war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Russia will work diligently as will China to see that no other countries give the US financial or military aid other than the token variety.
Bin Laden knows markets and his strategy is more economic than military. Saddam is no mountain of brains but rest assured Bin Laden is a capable opponent that should be respected if we wish to understand him.
Failure to respect your opposition is a sure formula for disaster.
We are not winning in Iraq or Afghanistan when you understand the big picture. The big picture that I want the Community to keep in focus is "What happens after November 2004?"
